Welcome From The Pastor
We are delighted you chose to visit our website here at First Baptist! We trust you will discover the joy that is found in honoring and exalting our Lord and hope that you leave this site with a better idea of our community. I personally want to invite you to attend our church, and I encourage you to be engaged in Worship. Feel free to stand, sit, or raise your hands. The Lord has something to teach each one of us. May our hearts be open to His voice as we worship Him together. After the service, please join me in the foyer so I can greet you personally. Have a great day, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Matthew W. Brooks, Senior Pastor
What To Expect
How many people usually come on the weekends?
Generally, well over 400 people visit our campus every weekend.
How do I get connected in such a big group?
Bible Fellowship! We know things can seem a little overwhelming at first, but the best way to get involved is through our smaller Bible Fellowship classes which meet Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.
What is a Bible Fellowship class?
Bible Fellowship classes at FBC Roswell consist of people of all ages who are going through the same life stage together.
What is a life stage?
We believe life is best maximized in community, and we make the most of that experience through relationships. Each class is organized on a life stage that best fits the individuals in that class. Regardless of if you are young, old, married or single; we have a place for you in Bible Fellowship.
What do I do if I have young children for Worship?
Couples are encouraged to place their young children (ages 0-3) in the nursery, which is located in the front of the church. Parents are then free to attend Worship and are given a pager in case they need to be contacted.
Is there a place for elementary and high school age children?
Yes! We have Bible Fellowship classes for kids of all ages. Kidszone is for grades first through sixth, and Strive is our Student Ministry for grades seventh through twelfth. Please see our "Get Connected" section of our website for more information.
What is expected of me as a participant at FBC Roswell?
Our passion at FBC Roswell is to equip our people to live intentional lives for Christ. Come ready to worship and to hear God's Word.
What does living intentionally mean?
Living intentionally is a mindset in which you are proactively committed to Christ and His church. It involves being active in church and Bible Fellowship, along with getting involved in class socials. We aim to build relationships with other godly families and singles. It is also means being intentional about forming relationships with lost co-workers, neighbors, and friends.
What do you mean by class socials?
Class socials vary from department to department. They can consist of a fellowship night, mom's day out, or just a night to hang out with other couples. All Young Adult classes participate in basketball, softball, bible studies, and Young Adult gatherings.
What are Young Adults gatherings?
These are intentional nights at our church where our staff builds the whole night around a topic about marriage or life. These are usually on Parent's Night Out so child care is on us, and couples are free to learn, fellowship, and hang out with other Young Married couples or adults.
How do I join FBC Roswell?
Membership is contingent upon a relationship with Jesus Christ. Once salvation is assured, then we will ask you to be baptized by immersion as spoken in the New Testament. You can join by responding to the invitation after each service or by contacting our church office at 575-623-2640.
How do I join if I am already a Christian?
If you have already accepted Christ and have been baptized by immersion, then FBC Roswell accepts all membership from churches of like faith.
What do I wear to church?
Feel free to come in casual attire; our atmosphere is extremely relaxed so you can focus on worshiping God!
What now?
We ask people to pray and visit all classes in their life stage at least once. Experience a full weekend at FBC Roswell by going to Bible Fellowship and Worship. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our church staff at 575-623-2640 or mbrooks@fbcroswell.org.
